The Inner Winner: Belief
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
Thursday Aug 20, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller and Martevious Young is in response to the first part of an amazing series from Denis Waitley called Winning For Life. This first session is about belief and activating your Inner Winner!
Here are some of the high points:
It's one thing to SHOUT... it is another thing to live as an example.
Our world doesn't need another critic, but desperately needs people who are able to live as role models who are willing to encourage others and stay positive!
Stop telling yourself what you should do... and start telling yourself what you are GOING to do!
No person in history has ever been surprised they won a gold medal at the olympics... they have envisioned that moment thousands of times. We all have a dominating thought that we are moving toward, whether good or bad. What is that dominating thought that has captivated you and that you are constantly moving toward!
When we can harness our emotions toward something productive, they can help launch us to success... but our emotions can also drive us away from the place we are called to go if we let them!

Are You Willing to Shift the Script??
Wednesday Aug 05, 2020
Wednesday Aug 05, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to an amazing message from Blake Mallen about not assuming you HAVE to live the life that others have "scripted" for you.
Here are some of the high points:
What if there is a commonly assumed narrative (or script) that almost everyone in our culture "assumes" is the journey we are "supposed" to take... Maybe that script comes from your family or your community... maybe it comes from the media or from our academic system.
What if we could tell you that it is possible to DESIGN and LIVE an extraordinary life? What would that look like for you if you actually began with the end in mind?
The truth is... the script works. But will the script that you're following lead you to the life you feel called to live?
Have you asked the question... WHY are you doing all of this? Really?
Most people spend more time planning their vacation every year than they do actually planning their LIFE.
On average people change jobs more than 7 times in their lifetime, so the script that was written for the late 20th Century no longer carries the same weight that it did decades ago!
Our heart for you is to help you wake up today and really LIVE so that you don't find yourself at the end of your life saying... "I wish I had the courage to live the life I wanted!"

Soul Fuel
Wednesday Jul 29, 2020
Wednesday Jul 29, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller and I is in response to an incredible message from Bear Grylls discussing so many of his life adventures and the principles he has learned through adversity.
Here are some of the high points:
Failing out of special forces training was one of the most significant moments of Bear's early journey... that's right... FAILURE! In his second attempt, he was one of only four out of NINETY who started the training to succeed. We tend to avoid scenarios where there is a chance we could fail, but ultimately with the right perspective and effort, failure can become the fertilizer of future success!
Fear is a universal law and you WILL be tested. You can either run from it or run toward it! The only way to make it go away is to move towards it and take action... the longer you don't do that, the more you feed that fear and it gets strength!! Moments of fear can be USED to drive us forward in what we are called into. If you confront your fear and use it as a trigger to actually DO it... your life will be transformed one day at a time!
When our body tells us we are done, we are only truly at 40% of actual capacity!
All it takes to start a fire is an ember... even with a small spark of hope, a true forest fire can be set ablaze within you!
What are you really made of? The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is just doing a little extra with consistency. Don't quit - keep going!
Resilience: It's not a matter of if... but WHEN you get knocked down. WILL YOU GET BACK UP?

Start With Why
Thursday Jul 23, 2020
Thursday Jul 23, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to a classic Ted Talk from Simon Sinek about the principles in his book "Start With Why."
Here are some of the high points:
People don't buy what you do, they buy why you do it.
Great leaders INSPIRE action... they don't motivate action. Any change of significance has to start from the inside out!
Once you identify your personal WHY, how are you consistently keeping it at the front of mind to stay focused on it? Don't just be in the pursuit of the results... enjoy the journey!
"Those times that you get up early and work hard, those times when you stay up late and work hard, those times when you don't feel like working and you're too tired and you don't want to push yourself but you do it anyway... that's the dream!" - Kobe Bryant
"Focused intensity over time multiplied by God = unstoppable momentum." - Dave Ramsey

The Impact of High Productivity: Part 2
Friday Jul 17, 2020
Friday Jul 17, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to the second part of an amazing series about productivity from Kindra Hall.
Here are some of the high points:
The order you fill you day matters. If you fit the big rocks in first... the things that are MOST important to accomplishing during your day, the small items will also fit in well. If you fill your day with the small unimportant items, often, you won't be able to conquer the big rocks as well!
KNOW yourself well enough to know how much sleep you need!
Make a list of the most IMPORTANT things in your life. You can't give everything an equal amount of time - it's impossible.
Burnout is REAL. If you don't create a clear structure with some level of boundaries, the urgent will overtake the rest of your life. You have to choose a time to start and choose a time to finish.
Don't strive... stride! When you finish getting your work done, protect the time with the people you love the most!
Remember the power of "Do Not Disturb" and "Airplane Mode." If you're looking to create mental space, shutting down notifications can be mission critical to your health!

The Impact of High Productivity: Part 1
Thursday Jul 16, 2020
Thursday Jul 16, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to an amazing message about productivity from Kindra Hall.
Here are some of the high points:
Uncertainty is the enemy of productivity. Get focused on what you DO know - not on what you don't know.
Motivation is something WE are responsible for personally. Nobody else is responsible for motivating you.
Before you go to bed, you need to know what tomorrow should look like!
Break big goals into smaller more measurable actions to accomplish step by step. You can't control your results - but you can control your activity. Reward the work... not just the results!
Seven Motivations of a Leader
1. Purpose
2. Autonomy
3. Relationships
4. Progress
5. Mastery
6. Recognition
7. Money

What's Your Motive?
Tuesday Jul 14, 2020
Tuesday Jul 14, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to an amazing dialogue between Craig Groeschel & Patrick Lencioni about what really drives you and motivates WHAT you do each and every day.
Here are some of the high points:
There are two primary reasons people become leaders... either one is pursuing the power and authority that comes with that role OR because they feel the responsibility and burden to help add value to the lives of others.
Servant leadership should be the ONLY kind of leadership.
Avoiding conflict is ultimately selfish. If we don't tell people the truth in love, we are actually doing them HARM.
Healthy organizations grow and thrive over time - which will almost always be an indicator of whether there is good leadership on the field or not!
