Four Enemies of Growth: Part 1
Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
Wednesday Nov 11, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is the first part in a two part series in response to a talk from Craig Groeschel about the FOUR enemies of growth.
Here are some of the high points from this first episode:
Change is inevitable and growth is optional! How you respond and adapt to the situations you face will impact whether you actually step forward or simply survive.
Organizations don't automatically lean toward growth. Are you as a leader pushing your people toward the positive or are you dragging people down toward the negative?
Are you intentionally preparing your team for growth?
Unnecessary complexity is a massive threat to any healthy organization -- complexity kills growth.
Unscalable processes: If you're the bottleneck for your company or your team, you have to make ROOM by bringing in the right talent to make space for new movement!

"I See It Now" Conversation
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
Wednesday Nov 04, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to an amazing message from Dharius Daniels.
Here are some of the key ideas:
If God hasn't given you an answer now, it may because you may not need an answer now. You may be dependent on something that he wants you to lean on HIM completely for. Keep advancing even when you don't have the answers you think you need. Stay the course until the Lord directs you otherwise.
God knows what you actually need. Jesus wasn't in a hurry or rushed or stressed... he was present and engaged in every moment his father placed him in.
The principle of perspective: Where you sit determines what you see. What you see will determine what you DO. Do you have an abundance mindset or a mindset of lack?
Don't use your gifts as a crutch.

Life Lessons From John Maxwell’s Father - Part 4
Tuesday Nov 03, 2020
Tuesday Nov 03, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to a talk from John Maxwell about lessons from his father Melvin. He truly learned a tremendous amount of the wisdom he teaches and walks in from his father, which makes this legacy series so powerful.
Here are some of the high points from this fourth and final episode:
Leadership is vision! People in your life model your behavior and not your expectations. They will repeat what you consistently DO when you're around them. Prioritize your life -- keep the first things FIRST.
Consider the 80/20 principle. The top 20% of your people will produce more than 80% of the results. Where are you investing the most time? We can't give 100% ALL day long EVERY day. Where will you choose to give your 100% time?
I've never met a successful person who quit their way to the top! Don't give up and don't give in. This is a DAILY decision. AND it will be far more possible if you have a solid accountability partner in your corner helping you stay the course when you're having a tough day.
REMEMBER names! It makes such a difference in people's lives when you work hard at learning someone's name.
Do your best ALWAYS - don't short change yourself. Work with excellence and prepare well - don't just "wing it." GROW and better yourself every day.

Life Lessons From John Maxwell's Father - Part 3

Tuesday Oct 27, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to a talk from John Maxwell about lessons from his father Melvin. He truly learned a tremendous amount of the wisdom he teaches and walks in from his father, which makes this legacy series so powerful. Over the next few episodes, we will dive into this series and really look at everything he learned and how we can apply those principles in our own lives to leave an amazing legacy of our own.
Here are some of the high points from this third episode:
Be intentional, be purposeful and be focused! To whom much is given, much is required. With great power comes great responsibility.
Live a life of generosity with your TIME, your TREASURE and your TALENTS. We need to be a river and not a reservoir... are we approaching life with open hands or closed fists? Rivers bring LIFE and reservoirs do not. Give GOD the credit. Acknowledge that every gift you've been given comes from God - he is the source of every good and perfect gift.
Understand the relationship between you and the gifts you've received from God.
Love and read God's word - it has the power to transform your life!!

Life Lessons From John Maxwell's Father - Part 2

Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to a talk from John Maxwell about lessons from his father Melvin. He truly learned a tremendous amount of the wisdom he teaches and walks in from his father, which makes this legacy series so powerful. Over the next few episodes, we will dive into this series and really look at everything he learned and how we can apply those principles in our own lives to leave an amazing legacy of our own.
Here are some of the high points from this second episode:
You don't have to be like me for me to VALUE you. If you only talk to people who agree with you, who are you actually reaching?
Pour good things into people. Live in such a way that you are adding something that HELPS them. What you think may be small, might be huge for someone else! Encouragement draws people to you -- if you want to have a team around you that love spending time around you, become a person who constantly encourages others. How do you know people need encouragement... if they are BREATHING!! We all need it!
Work Hard: Doing the right things always compounds into something positive. Sometimes, you have to do the right thing for a significant amount of time before it creates that clear positive momentum you're looking for. Be the person who is known for putting in the effort, but also create rhythms that allow you to work smart!
"Options" is one of John's favorite words... because there are often many ways to get to the destination you feel called to run after.
Trust and obey God. Period.

Life Lessons From John Maxwell's Father - Part 1

Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to a talk from John Maxwell about lessons from his father Melvin. He truly learned a tremendous amount of the wisdom he teaches and walks in from his father, which makes this legacy series so powerful. Over the next few episodes, we will dive into this series and really look at everything he learned and how we can apply those principles in our own lives to leave an amazing legacy of our own.
Here are some of the high points from this first episode:
You are a PERSON OF VALUE! From that perspective, we each CAN choose to add value to the people around us EVERY single day! People will forget what you said and what you did, but they won't forget how you made them feel. This isn't complicated - noticing someone and engaging them in a thoughtful conversation can go a long way!
Travel light: You can't carry a bunch of baggage to the mountain of success. There is so much that we tend to carry that compounds the difficulty of every step we take toward where we are called to go.
Pray without ceasing. Have an ongoing conversation with God. Give God the opportunity to intervene by bringing your concerns to him in prayer!

Build people up even when they are trying to tear you down -- take the HIGH ROAD!
You are always leading people somewhere - so where are the people you are leading headed?
Sometimes your life will be the only Bible that people around you will get to read.

Momentum - The Compound Effect - Creating Wealth
Friday Oct 09, 2020
Friday Oct 09, 2020
This concept can transform your business and your LIFE if you'll listen, learn and apply it!! Buckle up, because this is going to be a ride! 🚨🚨🚨
What happens 🤔 when you consistently do your minimum and stick with it for 12 months...
📅📅📅📅📅📅📅📅📅📅📅📅
Generally, not much at first. There is a learning curve AND it's HARD to see any momentum and believe that this is really working because small gains don't look like much at the beginning!
But if you understand the law of marginal gains and stay the course - this is what your journey can look like! 📈📈📈

Keys to Creating Wealth in 2020
Wednesday Oct 07, 2020
Wednesday Oct 07, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I is in response to a talk from Ed Mylett about how to create wealth in this new world that 2020 has become.
Here are some of the high points:
You need to be diverse in two areas of your life - your circle and your experiences. Keep your circle tight - fight for the people who will support and encourage you in who you are and what you stand for.
Human beings are a GIFT! God created us on purpose and with purpose for his name and his glory!
So many amazing experiences are actually FREE and don't even require a cost of admission... going on a walk in a park, a hike in the woods, engaging in healthy conversations with incredible people in your life and so much more.
We tend to want to stay inside our bubble and surround ourselves with people who are most like us... but if you want to grow, we must be willing to spend time with people who are DIFFERENT than we are!
Are you a quitter because others are quitters, or will you stay the course when the going gets tough?!

Hack Your Brain
Tuesday Sep 29, 2020
Tuesday Sep 29, 2020
Today's conversation between Chad Kneller and I is in response to a solid talk from David Bayer about how to Hack Your Brain. This session is FANTASTIC and can apply to so many different areas of your life!
Here are some of the high points:
Our minds have to be constantly worked, JUST like we have to consistently work out our bodies to stay strong and agile.
DOING the work is different than KNOWING what to do!
Don't develop a personal development hangover - there is so much danger in learning consistently without ever applying the knowledge.
We need to LEARN then DO then MODEL then TEACH!
Our brain is a GOAL achieving machine! We have to give new meaning to our experiences in order to continue to grow our mindset in the right way.
Your mindset is the reason WHY or WHY NOT to do something. It shapes your motivations and your behaviors at the deepest level of who you become.
Whatever you believe, that is what you will direct your actions to!
Beliefs - thoughts - actions - results
