Leading with Authenticity: Part 2
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
Tuesday Mar 22, 2022
Today's episode is the second part of a discussion in response to a leadership conversation between Craig Groeschel and Jamie Kern Lima about Leading with Authenticity.
Here are some of the high points:
Authenticity alone doesn't guarantee success... but inauthenticity DOES guarantee failure.
People can sense when you aren't being authentic.
When we change our relationship with rejection, we change our entire lives.
When you get comfortable with hearing "NO" ... it will reframe your willingness to take the next step. It won't be as hard and you will no longer take it personally.
Be a brave one! Most people are so afraid of being rejected that they won't step out and just make an ASK.
Don't get to Heaven only having done 50% of what you were capable of.
Your journey will be filled with many rejections -- now that you know it will happen, this shouldn't affect you as much!
Today may be bad... but you never know what will happen by next Tuesday in your business if you don't GIVE UP!
Trust your KNOWING over hearing someone telling you "NO."
Build the muscle of intuition!
More than ever, people need to know WHY they are doing what they are doing. This is part of what is feeding the great resignation across our nation and around the world!
You were not born to compete with anyone - you were created to reach the highest potential for YOU!

Leading with Authenticity: Part 1
Monday Mar 14, 2022
Monday Mar 14, 2022
Today's episode is a discussion in response to a leadership conversation between Craig Groeschel and Jamie Kern Lima about Leading with Authenticity. It is the first part of a two part series we will do digging into this content!
Here are some of the high points:
Part of being authentic is opening up to people and allowing them to see behind the scenes. No matter what role you have right now, God is using that to move you toward your calling. The job you have may be simple and it may not look big, but that doesn't mean these moments don't have the potential to prepare you for the next step.
Every business or movement of significance must start from a deeply held conviction about your WHY if it is to endure the hardships. Many leaders fail because they have their priorities wrong. They focus on the what and the how but miss putting energy into clarifying their WHY.
Don't put flash over cash - especially early on. Take the money you are making and reinvest it into your business to create a sustainable income.
It's the things that no one sees that you are doing that produce the results that everyone wants.
Sometimes you just HAVE to make it happen... period.

The Path of Success with John Maxwell
Tuesday Feb 22, 2022
Tuesday Feb 22, 2022
Today's episode is a discussion between Chad Kneller and I in response to a leadership talk from John Maxwell about how to walk the path of success via The Power of FIVE!
Here are some of the high points:
As leaders, it is mission critical that we have a growth mindset... that we never STOP learning and growing. Most people turn off their growth mindset by the time they are TWELVE!!
Only growing leaders have the ability to grow their teams -- if you're having a problem with your team growing, look inwardly first.
Beware of the danger of "finish lines" ... there isn't a time to STOP, there are just key mile markers along the way.
The number one thing John Maxwell would talk with people about is their MINDSET. He says that how you view things is how you DO things!

Breaking BAD Leadership Habits
Wednesday Feb 09, 2022
Wednesday Feb 09, 2022
Today's episode is a discussion between Chad Kneller and I in response to a leadership talk from Craig Groeschel about HOW to break bad leadership habits.
Here are some of the high points:
The first step is to identify WHAT habits you have currently that aren't serving you well. Take the time to look at your bank account, your health and your family to help answer this question. Are you wasting time, are you procrastinating, are you avoiding confrontation... are you overcommitting yourself and burning the candle at both ends?
Good habits are hard to start because the results don't come to fruition until the future.
We will either pay the price NOW or we'll pay it LATER with interest and penalties...
You are the SUM of the 5 people you spend the most time with... some relationships need to be re-negotiated and others need to be terminated.
The more you rise in leadership, the more difficult it will be to identify and define the weaknesses in your leadership.

3 Keys to Starting New Habits That Stick!
Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
Tuesday Feb 01, 2022
Today's episode is a discussion in response to a leadership talk from Craig Groeschel about the three keys to starting new habits that stick.
Here are some of the high points:
You don't have to be great to start... but you need to start to become great.
Most people are trying to do BIG things that seem insurmountable.
Start with something small - 40% of the actions that you do daily are the results of your HABITS... not your decisions.
The fastest way to do big things is to consistently do small things RIGHT.
If you're doing something with your business, look at people who are having success and find small things they are doing that you can begin to implement.
What is the ONE habit you want to start this year that you can stick to?
Don't try to start TEN new habits at the same time.
If you haven't figured out your I AM statement yet, that is a fantastic first step.
It is better if your new habit is small!
Newton's first law is that an object at rest tends to stay at rest... but an object in motion tends to stay in motion!
If you want to be a disciplined leader, STOP hitting the snooze button! Make that decision and stick to it!

High Impact Habits For Successful Leaders
Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Tuesday Jan 25, 2022
Today's episode is a discussion between Chad Kneller and I in response to a talk from Craig Groeschel about the high impact habits that YOU can start putting into place today to work toward becoming a successful leader!
Here are some of the high points:
Successful people do consistently what unsuccessful people do occasionally.
Being successful and being unsuccessful are easy to do or easy not to do. The simple disciplines made consistently over time will produce something significant over time!
It takes about 63 days to create a new habit if you want it to stick and actually install it! The problem is that if you STOP at any point on the journey, you'll lose momentum and have to start over.
It's not about hitting the finish line, it's about seeing how FAR you can go!
Goals don't determine success - systems are what determine success.
You don't maintain anything in life - you're either getting more healthy or you're getting less healthy! Nothing drifts UPHILL!

Focus on Personal Growth 💪
Tuesday Jan 18, 2022
Tuesday Jan 18, 2022
Today's episode is a conversation about why focusing on your personal growth is one of the most amazing decisions you can make to start this new year based on a message from Rory Vaden.
Here are some of the high points:
At the beginning of a new year, you have the potential to create a NEW you!
If you're not growing, you're not changing and getting better.
A growth mindset is a separator between those who experience an ordinary and mediocre life and those who grow and make the most of their life.
Personal development is constant and never ending improvement. The goal isn't to be the best... it's to always be getting better!
Our brains want to follow the PATH of LEAST resistance! Your brain isn't wired for success, it is wired for safety. Taking risks is scary, but that is why you have to constantly fight for opportunities to step out of your comfort zone.
Most people in life want to take the escalator through life rather than simply choosing to take the stairs.
One of the TOP attributes of the top 1% is that they have tremendous vision: endurance is tied to the clarity of your vision. People don't lack discipline. They lack clarity and vision for the things they want.

Leading Through Pain
Tuesday Jan 04, 2022
Tuesday Jan 04, 2022
Today's episode is a discussion between Chad Kneller and I in response to a talk from Craig Groeschel about leading through pain.
Here are some of the high points:
If you aren't leading through pain, it's unlikely you are actually leading people. As a leader, you carry a weight that most people don't understand.
There is almost no such thing as leadership progress without leadership pain.
There are multiple types of leadership pain... personal pain, external pain and pain that you personally have caused.
The value you bring come with the problems you solve. The experience of working through problems over time build your capacity.
Each leader gets to be a CPS... a Chief Problem Solver. One of the most important aspects of walking through a problem is simply to acknowledge the problem exists and accurately diagnosing what is truly happening.

The Genius of Leadership
Tuesday Dec 21, 2021
Tuesday Dec 21, 2021
Today's episode is a discussion between Chad Kneller, Martevious Young and I in response to a conversation between Jon Gordon and Erwin McManus about The Genius of Leadership.
Here are some of the high points:
You need to get rooted first... then you grow... and in time the fruit WILL show up.
Up until the last 150 years, leadership was purely authoritarian. It was simply power based and someone spoke and everyone else had to follow no matter what. Today, leadership has shifted to the power of connection and influence. People follow others who they want to be like.
SO... are you truly concerned about the people that you are desiring to have influence with? You have to help people become whole and better.
Questions people are always asking whether they say it or not:
- Do you care about me?
- Can you help me?
- Do you love me?
The leaders that can bring this out in the most people will win.
This is part of what proves why Jesus was such an incredible leader!!

Know What You Are FOR! 👀
Tuesday Dec 14, 2021
Tuesday Dec 14, 2021
Today's episode is a discussion between Martevious Young and I in response to a talk from Jeff Henderson about KNOWING what you are FOR!
Here are some of the high points:
Too much of the world knows exactly what they are against but have no idea what they are FOR.
Great leaders get up every day to work to be FOR their team. They don't "go" to the top but they "grow" to the top.
There are two kinds of people... there are HOW people and WOW people.
Failure is actually just a learning opportunity that can catapult you forward. Turn your tragedy into a tradition!
Companies used to be in the business of telling customers what they are about and what they are for... but now the customers tell the story to the world of what a company is really about. Customers can become vision carriers for the mission of your brand.
Are you delivering on what you are known for? Don't just write it down... do it!
